Video: SATC Clarification on Tense Situation
There has been a tense situation in the "Gumi" market since early morning. Employees of the Food Safety Inspection Body attempted to confiscate meat from vendors, asserting that it was being sold in violation of regulations.
Auroranews contacted the SATC, where officials stated that there is ongoing supervision concerning meat sold in the territory of Armenia. They cautioned citizens and expressed regret that regulations had not been followed.
It is worth noting that one of the meat vendors described the situation, stating: "We do not have a slaughterhouse to carry out slaughtering there. I brought the meat from the slaughterhouse in Yerevan, and now they are confiscating it, saying that I do not have the slaughterhouse paperwork. I want a solution to this issue, otherwise, I have filled my tank with gasoline, and it’s better for me to burn myself than let them take this meat from me. This is already the second time my meat has been confiscated. I have no other option, I've already lost 1.8 million drams in 15 days. How can I deceive a farmer and not pay him?"
