Get Ready: Statement from the Leader of a Pro-Turkish Group
The pro-Turkish group 'Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham' leader Ahmad al-Sharaa has ordered militants to prepare for the capture of Syria's capital, Damascus, reports France 24.
"Damascus is waiting for you," al-Sharaa said in a message directed at militants on Telegram, using his real name instead of his alias Abu Mohammad al-Golani.
According to media reports, the terrorists have also claimed that after capturing nearby cities on Saturday, they have begun to encircle Damascus. However, the Syrian Ministry of Defense has denied that the army has left its positions near the capital.
Hassan Abdel Ghani, the commander of the alliance's terrorists, who initiated an assault in the northwest of the country, stated, "Our forces have begun the final phase of encircling the capital, Damascus." The Syrian Ministry of Defense announced that "the news that our armed forces have left all areas in Damascus is not true."
