Russia is closely monitoring the situation in Syria and is in constant dialogue with the Syrian authorities. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, to reporters.

“At this moment, we are very attentively watching what is happening in Syria and are in constant dialogue with our Syrian friends in Damascus,” said the Kremlin representative.

He noted that the amount of assistance needed by the Arab Republic to combat terrorists can be discussed based on an assessment of the events taking place in the country.

On November 27, militant groups began attacks on government army positions in the Aleppo region. The terrorists managed to capture 13 settlements. The Syrian army launched a counteroffensive against the militants in Aleppo and Idlib on November 29.
