Masked Individuals at Armavir Penitentiary: Details

According to ArmLur.am's information, this morning at 08:30, law enforcement officials entered the "Armavir" penitentiary's second section wearing masks, and searches have begun, resulting in the assault of prisoners.

Reports indicate that the inmates sustained physical injuries, and as a result of the initiated process, three inmates associated with criminal culture have been transferred to the "Yerevan-Center" penitentiary or the well-known NSS isolation facility.

Auroranews contacted Nona Navikyan, head of the public relations department of the RA Penitentiary Service, to clarify the details regarding the incident. "The transfer of detainees and prisoners from one penitentiary to another is one of the operational aspects of the system. A routine search has been conducted at the Armavir penitentiary; I would like to note that there have been no incidents of resistance or violence," Navikyan stated.
