Roads Closed and Difficult to Access in Armenia
The Rescue Service reports that there are closed and difficult-to-pass roads throughout the territory of Armenia.
The road from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station to Kary Lake is closed in the Aragatsotn Province.
Due to road maintenance works, the section from the Jermuk city intersection to Saravan-"Zanger" is closed for trailer trucks, while the Spitak turns are closed for all trucks.
The Vardenyats Pass is open for trucks, provided they use chains. The roads in the Artik region are difficult to traverse for all types of vehicles.
The roads in the Ashotsk region are difficult for trucks. Snow has fallen in Vardenyats Pass, Aragats, Shirak Province (except for the Akhuryan region), the Saravan-"Zanger" section, in Jermuk, Vanadzor, Kajaran, Gyumri cities, and in the Jajur turns.
There are patches of black ice on the roads in the Artik, Aparan, and Aragats regions. Fog is present in the high-altitude areas of the Aragats region and in the area known as "Meghr Vine" in Syunik Province.
Drivers are advised to travel only with winter tires.
