«It's Nonsense, Pure Ridicule» – Minasian on Pashinyan's Statement
“I don't want to discuss nonsense. I reject and refuse to engage in discussions using such vocabulary altogether,” said Artsvik Minasian, a member of the ‘Armenia’ faction in the National Assembly, in response to a journalist's question regarding Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statement about the terms ‘Western Armenia’ and ‘Western Azerbaijan’ being circulated by Baku.
“It’s nonsense, pure ridicule that we are currently discussing such matters. Any discussion of this kind also provides an opportunity for outsiders to form some ideas or take actions against our society. Just because someone is nonsensical, it doesn’t mean the entire society should start discussing that nonsense foolishly,” Minasian stated.
Recall that on November 23, Nikol Pashinyan mentioned in an interview with Public Television that, “We feel uneasy and carry a heavy burden when some people use the term ‘Western Azerbaijan’ somewhere. When we say ‘Western Armenia’, don’t we consider that we might provoke some people? They will say again that it’s another act of betrayal, a vile trick. Today, I find myself in a situation and responsible position where I must communicate with our people and show the causality, the chains. If I fail to do this, it means I am consciously leading the country towards loss.”
