Ukraine Will Be on the Agenda, Borrell Says
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, who is set to assume the office of the President of the United States, will sit down at the negotiating table to discuss the situation surrounding Ukraine, said Josep Borrell, the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
As announced by the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, if Trump shows a willingness to listen to the concerns of the Russian Federation and understand the reasons for the conflict's onset, this could create a foundation for peaceful dialogue.
“Everything seems to indicate that Trump and Putin will sit down at the negotiating table, and Ukraine will be on the agenda,” the politician said. According to him, most European countries, although not unanimously, are ready to continue providing support to Kyiv.
