US Vetoes UN Security Council Resolution for Ceasefire in Gaza
The United States has vetoed a United Nations Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, which received 14 votes in favor and one against.
The permanent representative of Russia to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, described the US veto on the new Security Council resolution regarding the ceasefire in Gaza as an "irresponsible and inhumane act."
“The United States’ cold-hearted and cynical obstruction of the Security Council's simple demand to save human lives is an irresponsible and inhumane act,” Nebenzya said during the UN Security Council meeting.
