Our Azerbaijani Brothers Will Decide, Says Turkish Transport Minister
Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu stated that the route of the "Zangezur Corridor"—whether through Armenian or Iranian territory—will be determined by our Azerbaijani brothers. He made this remark during a discussion on the topic of "Sustainable, Digital Middle Corridor and Beyond" at COP29.
Uraloglu emphasized that Turkey is actively proceeding with negotiations alongside the Azerbaijani side regarding this corridor. He noted, "Next, this corridor will pass through Nakhchivan into Turkey."
The minister highlighted that Turkey is working diligently to create a separate route through "Zangezur" for the implementation of cargo transport with Azerbaijan via the Middle Corridor. "In Turkey, we have completed our project, held a tender, and will soon commence construction work, ensuring direct transportation links between Turkey and Azerbaijan," he stated.
According to Uraloglu, Turkey is at the center of transport corridors and plays a key role in the effective utilization of intercontinental corridors.
