That Permission Complies with International Law: Borel

The head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borel, is confident that a clash between Russian and European forces in Ukraine is not anticipated. He believes that the permission granted by the United States for Ukraine to strike deep into Russia with Western weapons is in accordance with international law.

It is worth noting that he had previously confirmed that the U.S. had allowed Ukraine to carry out strikes up to 300 kilometers in range.

“After lengthy discussions, President Joe Biden has allowed the use of long-range weapons, up to 300 kilometers into Russian territory. This is very good news for Ukraine, as they have requested it,” Borel stated.

He clarified that this issue pertains to national jurisdiction within the European Union.
