Deputy Mayor Presents Who Will Benefit from Transportation Tariff Privileges
The Deputy Mayor of Yerevan, Suren Grigoryan, has outlined the advantages in the transportation tariff package designed for various social groups.
"The project stipulates that public transportation services will be provided free of charge for children under 7 years old. For schoolchildren aged 8 to 17, a 20% discount will be applied; for orphans, public transport will be free. Pensioners who have turned 63 will receive a 30% discount, while students studying in Yerevan, regardless of their registration location, will benefit from a 15% discount. Orphaned students will receive free transport, and individuals with disabilities classified as first or second group, or newly categorized as severely disabled, will also ride for free. Those under state care, including individuals in orphanages or nursing homes, will be provided free transportation. Beneficiaries receiving specific support from the state will have a 20% discount, while former heroes of the USSR, Socialist Labor Heroes, National Heroes of Armenia, and individuals awarded with the first and second degree of the Combat Cross and three degrees of the Order of Glory will also ride for free. Additionally, parents of large families will benefit from free transport," stated the Deputy Mayor.
He added that the project primarily targets those groups who genuinely need assistance in light of the changing tariff conditions.
Recall that earlier, the press secretary of the Mayor of Yerevan, Hayk Kostanyan, also presented the package of benefits for public transportation users.
