Why the Tap Water in Zovuni is Flowing Brown: Details

For several days now, the drinking water in Zovuni has been flowing brown from the taps. AuroraNews received a report regarding this issue.

To clarify the details, AuroraNews contacted the Regulatory Commission for Public Services of Armenia (RCPSA), where it was stated that "Veolia Water" is conducting emergency restoration work in the area, but they have not cut off the water supply, stating that it is safer to carry out the work under water flow.

"In such cases, the law requires that local residents be informed. The company is obliged to issue a statement indicating that the drinking water should not be used," said the RCPSA representatives, adding that the company promised to complete the work by the end of the day. If the situation continues, the authorities advised that it would be appropriate to file a written complaint.

Earlier, it was reported that AuroraNews had been notified that the drinking water in Zovuni has been brown for several days. It was noted that the water has not been cleaned for more than 14 hours.

AuroraNews also attempted to reach out to Veolia Water, who requested time to provide clarification, but subsequently did not respond to the calls.
