Russia's Response Will Be Proportional and Tangible, Zakharova

If Ukraine strikes the Russian Federation with Western long-range missiles, it would mean direct U.S. involvement in military operations against Russia, as well as a radical change in the nature of the conflict. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

She commented on reports suggesting that Biden allegedly allowed Kyiv to strike deep into Russian territory with U.S. ATACMS missiles, as well as with SCALP and STORM SHADOW missiles from France and Great Britain, respectively. “It is still unclear whether these claims are based on official sources,” she said.

According to Zakharova, against the backdrop of Kyiv's regime losses, its Western sponsors are betting on escalating the hybrid war unleashed against Russia, attempting to achieve the illusory goal of inflicting a “strategic defeat on Moscow.” However, no “miracle weapon,” which Zelensky and his followers are praying for, can affect the course of the Special Military Operation.

It is noteworthy that the President of Russia has emphasized that Ukraine itself has no capacity to deliver such strikes without the use of space satellites and the deployment of NATO military personnel for flight missions.

“The use of long-range missiles by Kyiv to attack our territory would mean direct U.S. and its satellites' involvement in military operations against Russia, as well as a radical change in the essence and nature of the conflict. Russia's response in this case will be proportional and tangible,” Zakharova stated.
