Another Scandal in Baku Amid COP-29: Hayrapetyan

Azerbaijan expert Tatevik Hayrapetyan has written on her Telegram channel that another scandal has unfolded in Baku during the COP-29 summit.

“Thus, in the very 'tolerant' and 'peace-loving' Baku, yet another scandal has occurred within the framework of COP-29. Frank Pallone, a member of the U.S. congressional delegation known for articulating significant truths related to Artsakh and the Republic of Armenia, has become a target in Azerbaijan. For several days, he was practically followed by Azerbaijani state media, as well as representatives of state-supported civic organizations, subjecting him to pressures and insults. Consequently, Pallone left Baku due to concerns for his own safety.

This serves as yet another signal, especially for those who think that the propaganda of hatred towards Armenians is merely a dance and a game, who downplay the role and significance of state-level hate propaganda in the realization of aggressions and genocidal policies. If even an American congressman, who demands justice regarding issues related to Armenians, has become a target in that country, just imagine what could happen to an individual of Armenian descent living there…,” she noted.

It is worth recalling that earlier it had been reported that pro-Armenian congressman Frank Pallone was in Baku to participate in COP29, where protesters expressed their discontent, gathering near the hotel where the pro-Armenian congressman was staying, demanding an immediate apology and his prompt departure from Baku.
