The Level of Insult That Violates Human Dignity Has Been Heard: Pashinyan
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasizes the importance of having clear and visible standards for the use of force within the framework of police reforms. During today's government session, he stated, "When police actions are questioned regarding the use of force, many people don't understand and say, 'We did our job.' In some respects, they are right, but those who argue that there must be certain forms, measures, and limits are also correct. By studying this issue, we understand that there is currently no standard for the use of force in our country."
Pashinyan noted that it must be transparent for everyone in what situations and circumstances the police should use force. "When an incident occurs, we want to understand what the reason is. It turns out that the police officer has been subjected to insults of a kind that violate human dignity in our reality. We need to clearly define what the police officer’s code of conduct should be in this case and what actions he should take," he stated.
