Why the Health Insurance Program Was Not Included in the 2025 Budget
The Minister of Finance, Vahe Hovhannisyan, addressed the omission of funding for the mandatory health insurance program in the 2025 budget.
He stated that removing this topic from the performance indicators appendix aims to make the budget presentation more manageable and concise, which does not mean that there has been a withdrawal from that obligation.
Hovhannisyan emphasized that comprehensive health insurance has not yet been included in the state budget, as there is currently a reserve fund of 11 billion drams. However, if it is decided in the near future that this is a pressing issue, necessary resources will be allocated.
The minister noted that discussions are being held in committees to find the correct solution to this issue, and it is currently essential to strike a balance between various options and needs.
