Waiting for Pashinyan's SMS in the CP
The head of the "Civil Contract" faction, Hayk Konjoryan, and the faction's secretary, Arthur Hovhannisyan, are waiting for an SMS from Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to initiate the dismissal of the Chairman of the National Assembly's Defense and Security Committee, Andranik Kocharyan. This is reported by the newspaper "Zhoghovurd." Sources from the media indicate that discussions regarding Kocharyan's dismissal are still ongoing within the "Civil Contract" party.
“Despite Andranik Kocharyan's efforts to close the topic at all costs and to negotiate with Pashinyan, a significant number of members of the CP are seriously inclined to bring about his dismissal. The authorities do not yet consider the issue closed; the majority is in favor of Kocharyan’s dismissal, but they are waiting for Nikol Pashinyan's decision, who continues to maintain silence on this matter and has not yet expressed a final position,” the newspaper reports.
According to the media, on the day of the notorious “self-criticism session,” CP members approached the podium one by one and defamed Andranik Kocharyan. Nikol Pashinyan did not object, listened to the complaints of about 40 attendees, became upset, and stated that the issue should be resolved at the faction level.
“However, the faction leader and secretary have not yet received the relevant ‘SMS message’ regarding this matter. Hayk Konjoryan and Arthur Hovhannisyan are waiting; fearing Kocharyan, they are not initiating his dismissal without additional clarifications,” reports "Zhoghovurd." It is reminded that Kocharyan said in a conversation with journalists on October 29 that he is unaware of any initiative to remove him from the chairmanship of the committee.
