Baku Confirms: It Was Due to Its Pressure

Baku has confirmed that it was due to its pressure that Jordan recalled the film by the Armenian director about Artsakh from the 97th Academy Awards. The spokesperson of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Ayxan Hacızadə, stated that the content of the film submitted by Jordan for the 'Best International Feature Film' category at the Oscars 'contradicts Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and sovereignty.'

'The film ultimately was not presented at the Oscars, and its screening in Jordan has been halted. We welcome this decision from the Jordanian side,' said the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesperson.

Director Sarin Hayrapetyan's documentary film 'My Sweet Country' tells the story of Artsakh and its people. The main character is 11-year-old Vrej, who dreams of becoming a dentist in his village located in Artsakh. When war breaks out again, Vrej flees with his family, but after the war, he returns to a devastated homeland. Vrej faces new challenges and must prepare for new military operations while battling severe trauma.
