Russian President Ratifies Agreement with North Korea

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ratified the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement between Russia and North Korea. According to the document, the countries commit to provide immediate military assistance in the event of an armed attack on either of them.

Moscow and Pyongyang will also be able to conduct joint exercises aimed at strengthening defense capabilities to prevent war.

It is noteworthy that President Vladimir Putin of Russia and President Kim Jong-un of North Korea signed the agreement during a meeting in Pyongyang in June. The State Duma ratified the document on October 24, and the Federation Council approved it on November 6. The agreement takes effect from the date of the exchange of documents and is valid indefinitely.
