Iran Responds to Allegations Against It
The official representative of Iran's Foreign Ministry, Ismail Baghaei, has responded to recent statements. According to RIA Novosti, he deemed the allegations against Tehran regarding its supposed involvement in an assassination attempt on U.S. representatives as baseless, labeling them a "conspiracy by Israel" intended to complicate relations between the American and Iranian sides.
Earlier, the U.S. Attorney General had announced preparations for the assassination of Donald Trump, claiming that the political figure's assassination was organized at Iran's orders. Farhad Shakiri, an agent of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps alleged to be involved in the crime's organization, has been charged in absentia.
On July 13, an assassination attempt against Donald Trump, who was then a presidential candidate and the former president, took place during a speech in Pennsylvania. He was injured. Gunfire was opened by a sniper from a rooftop not far from the meeting venue. The assailant was shot dead by Secret Service agents on the spot. Reports indicate that one participant in the meeting died, while two others sustained serious injuries.
A second assassination attempt occurred in September near a golf club where Donald Trump was playing golf. Gunfire was heard while Trump was several hundred meters away from the shooting location. Additionally, representatives from Trump's campaign headquarters announced that U.S. intelligence had warned the president of a threat to his life from Iran.
