The European Union (EU) should have transferred Ukraine's president Volodymyr Zelensky and his team’s assets instead of illegally seizing Russian Federation assets, stated Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, on her Telegram channel.

According to the diplomat, the current leader of Ukraine is trying to secure a $300 billion allocation from Brussels based on the blocked Russian assets.

“The EU knows what this will end for them. We have honestly warned that it will be very painful,” she emphasized.

At the same time, Zakharova drew attention to the fact that European officials are well aware of where the 'stolen assets' of Ukrainian oligarchs and politicians are hidden. Against this backdrop, she suggested that EU member countries confiscate the property of Zelensky and his close associates, who actually have substantial resources. “And if you scrape the bottom of the barrel of the remaining thieves, who led the Ukrainian state to collapse and sold the country, then the Ukrainian economy can be restored,” added the ministry’s representative.

In particular, she urged Brussels to pay attention to the property of former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Kyiv’s current mayor Vitali Klitschko.
