Shoygu: "We Expect That the Work of This Mechanism Will Activate"

Russia expects that the work of the "3+3" format concerning the South Caucasus will activate following the ministerial meeting held in Turkey in October. This statement was made by the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Sergey Shoygu, during the 12th meeting of the secretaries of the security councils of the CIS countries in Moscow.

“In the South Caucasus, we have done and continue to do everything possible to strengthen the ‘3+3’ consultative regional platform. We expect that the work of this mechanism will activate after the ministerial meeting,” he said.

It is noteworthy that the first session of the “3+3” consultative platform was held in December 2021 in Moscow. At that time, deputy foreign ministers from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Russia, Iran, and Turkey participated in the meeting. Georgia refused to take part.
