Pressure on Russia Not to Act in Artsakh: Babayan
Mariam Z.
Kazakhstan and Belarus have successfully pressured Russia to refrain from taking any action in Artsakh, according to Samvel Babayan, the former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, in an interview with A1plus.
“Russia is dependent on Belarus, Kazakhstan, and the Central Asian market. Kazakhstan and Belarus exerted pressure so that Russia would not help us. They pressured Russia not to interfere as Azerbaijan pursues its interests. Azerbaijan has invested $20 billion in Central Asia, a similar amount in Kazakhstan, and has also given $2 billion to Belarus. This is why they are expected to support Azerbaijan. Additionally, Azerbaijan has made significant investments in the Russian market,” Babayan stated.
