Photos: Turkey Builds Wall at Border with Iran
Turkey has completed most of the construction of barriers made of concrete blocks at its border with Iran. The construction of the modular wall began in 2021 with the goal of preventing the entry of terrorists and illegal migrants, as well as combating smuggling.
The four-meter high wall is equipped with specialized equipment that allows for the identification and timely prevention of border violators. A one-meter high barbed wire is installed at the top of the wall. There is a deep trench four meters wide along the length of the wall.
Turkish military personnel are on duty around the clock with service dogs and armored vehicles. Additionally, anti-drone systems have been installed near the border, and teams of deminers are also on duty.
When movements of violators are detected, a voice warning in Turkish and Persian is activated, saying “Leave.” Representatives of the Turkish authorities have stated that the construction of the modular wall is 70% complete, with the remaining sections to be built starting in 2025.
