Peskov on Possible Meeting Between Russian and US Presidents

Any potential meeting between the Presidents of Russia and the United States must be thoroughly prepared at an expert level; currently, no work is being done in this regard. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president.

“Meetings do not happen spontaneously. Any meeting must be well-prepared, and significant work is carried out at an expert level before each meeting. As of now, no work is being done. It’s still too early to say who we would work with. We are not working with Biden's administration; there are some technical communication channels, but they are not substantive,” Peskov said.

It is noted that presidential elections were held in the United States on November 5. House Speaker Mike Johnson announced that Donald Trump has been elected president. He has gathered 277 electoral votes, while 270 are required for victory.

It is important to mention that out of 344 million residents in the US, 244 million have the right to vote.
