Iran's Position is Clear: Ambassador

Tehran supports the opening of transport communications in the region, but with respect to Armenia's sovereignty and territorial integrity. This was stated by Mehdi Sobhani, the Iranian ambassador in Armenia, during a press conference at the three-day expert conference titled "Armenia-Iran: The Course of Cooperation and New Perspectives" in Kapan.

According to him, Iran's position regarding the so-called "Zangezur Corridor" is clear—the Iranian side is opposed to any geopolitical changes and corridor logic.

"Iran and Armenia have a strong foundation for their relations; we are neighboring countries that have lived side by side for centuries and enjoy good, friendly relations. I do not believe that anyone will take a step against the interests of the peoples of both countries," said Sobhani.

He noted that bilateral relations have also developed in the past without the influence of external factors. Tehran is confident that its relations with Yerevan will continue to develop in the spirit of bilateral cooperation, which is not affected by external factors.
