Harris Issues Statement After Defeat

Kamal Harris, the Democratic candidate for U.S. President, has called on Democrats to acknowledge the results of the presidential election held on November 5 and confirmed that she has congratulated Republican Donald Trump on his victory.

The relevant statement was made during her speech at Howard University in Washington.

“We must recognize the results of this election. Earlier, I spoke with President-elect Trump and congratulated him on his victory. I also told him that we will assist him and his team during the transition period and participate in the peaceful transfer of power,” said Harris, who lost in the presidential elections.

Harris has been serving as the U.S. Vice President since January 2021.
