German President Announces Willingness to Dissolve Bundestag

The President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, has announced that he is ready to dissolve the Bundestag and hold early parliamentary elections if lawmakers express non-confidence in Chancellor Olaf Scholz, reports Reuters.

“Now is not the time for tactical maneuvers and deceit, but rather the time for wisdom and responsibility,” noted Steinmeier.

Earlier, Olaf Scholz had dismissed the country's Finance Minister, Christian Lindner. The Chancellor stated that he had to take that action to prevent damage to the country.
