Maya Sandu: 'They Want to Buy Our Country, But They Can't Win Against Our Unity'
The president of Moldova, Maya Sandu, who is running for a second term, claims that there are threats of voter bribery in the second round of presidential elections.
"It is crucial to maintain unity and protect our votes, to defend our independence. The thieves want to buy our votes, want to buy our country, but they cannot win against our unity," Sandu stated after visiting a polling station.
In the elections held on October 20, Sandu received 42.49% of the votes. Former General Prosecutor Alexandru Stoianoglo advanced to the second round with 25.95% of the votes.
