Armenia Wins Two More Silver Medals in Weightlifting

Representatives of Armenia's youth weightlifting teams for both men and women have secured additional medals at the European Championships. According to Armenpress, during the ongoing European Championships for U20 and U23 athletes in weightlifting held in Poland, the under-23 category for men over 87 kg commenced competition.

In the super heavyweight category, Armenia's Ashot Movsisyan successfully lifted 158 kg in the snatch and 201 kg in the clean and jerk. With a combined total of 359 kg, he earned the silver medal at the European Youth Championships.

In the competition among women under 23, only four athletes participated. Armenia's Meri Tovmasyan managed a snatch of 98 kg and a clean and jerk of 122 kg. With a combined total of 220 kg, Tovmasyan also clinched the silver medal at the European Championships for youth.
