In Valencia, located in eastern Spain, the number of missing persons due to flooding may reach approximately 250. This has been reported by El Español newspaper, citing unofficial sources involved in the rescue operations. Meanwhile, authorities have not yet confirmed the number of presumed missing persons.
Spain's Defense Minister Margarita Robles has limited her comments to stating that there are still many missing due to the floods in the eastern part of the country.
On October 29, Spain's State Meteorological Agency warned of adverse weather conditions due to heavy rains in various regions of the country. The level of weather hazard has been raised to maximum due to torrential rains in the south and east of the Kingdom.
At least 155 people have died as a result of the floods in Valencia, but search operations for the missing are still ongoing. Weather warnings remain in effect in some parts of the country as of November 1.
