Georgian Ruling Party: We Will Never Repeal the Law Banning LGBT Propaganda
The "Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia" party will never abandon the law banning LGBT propaganda in the country, even if it means delaying the EU accession process by several years, stated Mamuka Mdinaradze, the executive secretary of the ruling party.
"If the law banning LGBT propaganda serves as a temporary obstacle for EU accession, we will not take those 'European values' into consideration. It is better to delay European integration by 2-3 years than to ever, I emphasize, ever repeal the law banning LGBT propaganda," Mdinaradze said during a press briefing.
According to him, the government of Georgia will never subordinate the honorable, tradition-based future of the coming generations to petty political interests. "LGBT propaganda is not a European value. We do not want such a Europe and cannot even imagine it," Mdinaradze added.
