Who are the best in the world of football? The Ballon d'Or
The prestigious Ballon d'Or awards by "France Football" took place in the French capital, Paris. During the ceremony held at the "Châtelet" theater, the Kopa Trophy for the best player under 21 was awarded to Lamine Yamal (Spain, "Barcelona").
Yamal is the third consecutive representative from Catalan "Barcelona" to win this award. The best women's and men's teams were "Barcelona" women’s team and "Real" men’s team, respectively.
The special award from "France Football" was given to German football legend Franz Beckenbauer, who sadly passed away this year. The Gerd Müller award for the most goals scored was jointly awarded to Harry Kane (England, "Bavaria") and Kylian Mbappé (France, "Real").
The Lev Yashin award for the best goalkeeper of the year went to Emiliano Martínez (Argentina, "Aston Villa") for the second consecutive year. The Socrates award for outstanding charitable and humanitarian activities over the past year was awarded to former Spain women's national football team player Zenifer Hermosa.
The best men’s and women’s coach awards, named after Johan Cruyff, were presented to Emma Hayes (current head coach of the US women's national team and former coach of "Chelsea") and Carlo Ancelotti ("Real").
The women’s Ballon d'Or was won by Aitana Bonmatí for the second consecutive year (Spain national team, "Barcelona"). This year’s men’s Ballon d'Or winner is Rodri (Spain, "Manchester City").
