Vote Counting Completed: Georgia's CEC Publishes Results
The ruling party in Georgia, "Georgian Dream," has received 53.92% of the votes in the parliamentary elections, based on the processing results of 100% of the ballots, according to the Central Election Commission of Georgia.
On October 26, Georgian citizens elected 150 members of parliament. The mandates will be distributed among those parties that gather at least 5% of the actual votes.
In favor of "Georgian Dream" (including "Georgian Dream", "Power of the People"), 53.92% of voters cast their ballots. The remaining votes were distributed as follows:
- "Coalition for Changes" (including "Akhalgori", "Girchi – More Freedom", and "Droa") – 11.04%
- "United National Movement" (including "United National Movement", "Agmashenebeli Strategy", "European Georgia") – 10.16%
- "Strong Georgia" bloc (including "Lelo for Georgia", "For the People", "Freedom Square", "Citizens") – 8.81%
- "For Georgia" – 7.77%
The remaining parties did not overcome the 5% threshold. The CEC of Georgia has recognized the parliamentary elections as valid. The "Georgian Dream" party has calculated that they will receive about 90 of the 150 mandates in the parliament.
The final voter turnout for the Georgian elections, according to preliminary data from the CEC, was 58.94%. A total of 18 political forces participated in the parliamentary elections.
