There Is a Group Preparing for a Coup, Says Papuashvili

There is a group in Georgia that is preparing a coup after the parliamentary elections. This was announced by the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili. His remarks were quoted by RIA Novosti.

"All signs indicate that there is a group preparing for a coup," said Papuashvili. According to him, they aim to seize power through anti-democratic means, and local non-governmental observational organizations are involved in this effort.

Papuashvili disclosed that a similar coup was also anticipated following the 2020 parliamentary elections. This group plans to operate on the same scheme: the malefactors, with the assistance of observational NGOs, are preparing to produce false reports regarding the conduct of the elections, in order to create a pretext for "another disorder" in Georgia.

It is noteworthy that the parliamentary elections in Georgia are scheduled for October 26. Earlier, Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder of the ruling party "Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia," stated that Western countries have suggested that Georgia start a war with Russia. However, the political figure did not specify when this occurred.
