What Compromises Biden Wrote in Letters Addressed to Pashinyan and Aliyev

The United States supports the efforts of Armenia and Azerbaijan to reach a lasting and dignified peace agreement. This was stated by the U.S. State Department in response to a written inquiry from 'Liberty' regarding President Joe Biden's proposals.

‘The parties have made significant progress toward finalizing a peace agreement. The U.S. is committed to supporting this process in any way that is beneficial for the parties,’ said the State Department spokesperson, summarizing that they have nothing to add at this time.

The American media outlet inquired specifically about what the U.S. President offered and what compromises he mentioned in letters addressed to the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides.

In a letter addressed to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Joe Biden assured that his administration is ‘prepared to undertake bold initiatives that will help pave the way to peace.’

‘I have asked Michael Carpenter, the Principal Director for European Affairs, to inform you of certain steps we would like to take and to get your opinion on discussions with Azerbaijan,’ Biden wrote to Pashinyan, as reported by the Prime Minister's office.
