He Could Be in Even Bigger Trouble Than Many Imagine: Austin

The U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has confirmed that the U.S. government has evidence that North Korea has sent military forces to Russia. At the same time, Austin emphasized that the purpose of the troop deployment is still unclear. This was reported by the Washington Post.

Ukraine and South Korea have repeatedly accused North Korea of sending troops to Russia for use in the war. NATO and the U.S. previously did not confirm the movement of troops.

“Our analysts continue to investigate. We are now seeing evidence that North Korean troops have gone to Russia. What they will do is still unclear. But yes, there is evidence that there are DPRK troops in Russia,” Austin said.

According to the Pentagon chief, “if their intention is to participate in the war on Russia's side, that is a very serious issue.”

Austin noted that it is unclear what North Korea would gain from this move. He indicated that this suggests that Russia's military capabilities have weakened and that it has needed assistance from allies like Iran and North Korea.

“This indicates that he may be in even bigger trouble than many imagine,” Austin said, referring to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
