Several Kindergartens Robbed Over Days
In the Lori region, incidents of property theft have increased, with robbers also targeting kindergartens in Vanadzor. This was reported by Shamshyan.com.
On October 14, a 52-year-old resident of Vanadzor, Gayane Sargsyan, called the operational control center of the Lori regional police department, reporting a theft from kindergarten No. 33.
Ms. Sargsyan informed the police that unknown individuals entered the kindergarten located on Tashir Highway between October 11 and October 14 by forcibly opening the door to the entrance and her office. They stole money, alcoholic beverages, and a large amount of 500-dram coins.
A criminal case has been initiated in the Lori regional investigative department on the grounds of “theft of personal property.” While police and investigators were taking necessary operational-investigative and joint actions to identify the individual or individuals who committed the crime, on October 17, a 42-year-old resident of Lori, Armenuhi Markosyan, reported to the Taron police department that an unknown individual or individuals had opened the door of kindergarten No. 40, located at Taron 2 KSHH 3, between October 16 and 17, and stole a “Murino”-type heating boiler from the corridor.
According to the website’s information, Armenuhi Markosyan, who reported the incident, is the acting director of the Vanadzor kindergarten No. 40, while Gayane Sargsyan is the director of the Vanadzor kindergarten No. 33.
The website also reports that theft incidents have occurred in several other kindergartens; however, the staff refused to report them to the police, arguing that “they won’t find anything anyway, and we will get fired from our jobs, they’ll just take it and bring it back for no reason.”
