A Month's Worth of Rain in Just One Day: Surenyan Issues a Warning
Tomorrow, several regions of the republic will receive the equivalent of a month's worth of rain for October. This was reported by Gagik Surenyan, the deputy director of the Hydrometeorological and Monitoring Center, on his Facebook page.
Previously, Levon Azizyan, the director of the Hydrometeorological and Monitoring Center, had stated: “Do not be deceived by the sunny weather; starting tonight at 20:00, you will feel the strength of an active cyclone penetrating from the west.”
It should be noted that the center had previously announced that due to the intrusion of an active cyclone from the west, heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in most regions of the republic late on October 16 and into the 17th, as well as the night of the 17th to the 18th.
The air temperature across the republic is expected to gradually decrease by about 6-9 degrees compared to today from October 17-19.
Due to heavy rainfall, significant increases in river levels are expected in most regions of the republic on October 17-18.
