Corruption Links Discovered at HEC

A number of representatives from various government departments discussed procurement issues at HEC with MPs from the ruling party yesterday in the National Assembly. According to sources from the newspaper 'Hraparak', a corruption chain has been identified in this sector. Most of the companies participating in the procurements are closely linked to senior officials at HEC, prompting the decision to make changes in the procurement process.

Furthermore, the law will be amended to stipulate that any organization connected to even department heads within HEC cannot participate in the procurement process. The discussion was attended by Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration Hovhannes Harutyunyan, Chairman of the Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition Gegham Gevorgyan, representatives from the Public Services Regulatory Commission, and other relevant authorities.

It should be noted that recently, HEC, which is managed by the family of Samvel Karapetyan, has come under the scrutiny of the government.
