Constitutional Court Issues Statement
The Constitutional Court has issued a statement, which states: "Recently, there have been frequent instances of targeting the Constitutional Court and individual judges on public platforms, including social networks and certain media outlets, driven by individual, group, or other sectional (primarily political) interests. The Constitutional Court has consistently refrained from responding to baseless and unsubstantiated discourse from interested individuals or organizations, regardless of its defamatory content directed at the Constitutional Court, its judges, or staff, as befits the status of the High Court.
However, it is evident that there have been more frequent attempts to undermine the legitimacy of judicial acts through amateur-level analyses that disseminate defamatory information about the judges of the Constitutional Court or its staff, deliberately distorting the content of Constitutional Court decisions to mislead the public and spread misinformation, as well as statements aimed at discrediting judges and staff of the Constitutional Court.
We urge individuals and groups engaged in such activities to refrain from attempts to distort the content of the Court's decisions and to read decision SDO-1749 before making public statements. We particularly call on mass media to pay attention to such unlawful manifestations, and we believe that tolerance towards this ongoing behavior is unacceptable and should be subject to legal assessment if it continues."
