I have seen at least a few instances in European hotels where, for example, when you order tea or coffee, suddenly a waiter comes and starts speaking Armenian in the style of Armenia. This was mentioned today, October 17, during a government meeting discussing the strategy for improving Armenia's demographic situation from 2024 to 2040, by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

"You ask, 'Who are you, what are you?' Naturally, the question arises, why did you emigrate? What’s the reason? Is there no place to work as a waiter in a hotel in Yerevan, that you came here to work? Then it turns out that someone emigrated because of their haircut, someone because they wear earrings, one emigrated because they do not like khash, another does not like kebab, and other similar reasons. If we do not address these themes, we will not understand the phenomenon of emigration. We have no idea about emigration," said Pashinyan.

According to Pashinyan, we do not have a comprehensive understanding of emigration. "We constantly say toasts for the Diaspora to come, to utilize the potential of the Diaspora, to do things for them to come. For what reason should they come? Excuse me, who would leave their peaceful life in Brussels to go live in the village of Movses under gunfire? Who? Show me 15-20 such cases, at least. We need to confront these issues," the head of the government added.

The Prime Minister also noted that justice is an inseparable part of demographics. "Because when a person encounters one, two, three, or four injustices, they say if I cannot protect my rights in my country, what connection do I have with this country? Democracy is legality, order, legal frameworks, security—both internal and external. I fear that when we mention demographics, we might only think about childbirth as a habit," declared Nikol Pashinyan.
