Large Car Accident on Spitak-Vanadzor Road: Casualties Reported
On October 17, at 14:36, the emergency management center of the Lori regional rescue service received a call about a traffic accident near one of the restaurants along the Spitak-Vanadzor highway. There were casualties, and assistance from rescuers was needed.
A firefighting and rescue unit was dispatched from the Ministry of Emergency Situations' regional rescue service to the scene.
It was revealed that at the 5th kilometer of the Spitak-Vanadzor highway, a Nissan vehicle (driver: G.G., born in 1979) had veered off the road and ended up in a nearby field.
Before the rescuers arrived, M.M. (born in 2022), A.M. (born in 1991), T.P. (born in 1989), and G.A. (born in 1991) were extricated from the vehicle by local efforts.
The rescuers disconnected the vehicle’s battery, closed the gas valve, and assisted the driver and passenger K.A. (born in 1962) by providing access to an ambulance. The injured individuals were hospitalized in a medical center.
