Details on the Newborn Found on Artsakh Street in Yerevan

A newborn discovered on Artsakh Street in Yerevan in May 2023 has been adopted. This information was provided to Sputnik Armenia by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia in response to our written inquiry.

"We inform you that the abandoned child found in the back of one of the garages on Artsakh Street in Yerevan has been adopted based on a court decision. Due to the confidentiality of the adoption, no further information can be shared," the ministry stated.

It is recalled that the newborn was found behind a partially demolished garage on May 11. A local resident discovered the baby, who had just been born a few hours earlier, wrapped in a dirty cloth.

The girl was transported in serious condition (hypothermia, respiratory issues) by ambulance to the Muratsan Medical Center. No additional information about the child has been released.
