Suspects in the Case of 15 Fallen Soldiers Re-Arrested
In the case of the 15 soldiers who died in the military barracks in Azat village, a court session held on August 23 this year resulted in a decision by the first-instance court of Gegharkunik Province to change the preventive measure for defendants Gor Aghekian and Marlen Sargsyan. They had been placed under house arrest for a three-month term with a prohibition on leaving their residence as alternative measures.
This information was shared by the victims' lawyer, Norair Norikyan. “On October 7 and 11 of this year, the Court of Appeal fully granted the special appeals filed by the authorized representative of the victims and the public prosecutor, thus repealing the decisions made by the first-instance court in Gegharkunik Province. Consequently, the preventive measure for defendants Gor Aghekian and Marlen Sargsyan has once again been set to arrest,” stated the lawyer.
