A Magnetic Storm Expected Today
The solar wind could disrupt the Earth's magnetosphere today, Wednesday, October 16, causing a mild magnetic storm. This is reported by the 'Phobos' weather center.
The publication states that soon the Earth will be under the influence of a rapid solar wind flow, which could lead to moderate G1-G2 class magnetic storms.
"The first signs of this have already been detected in the form of minor disturbances in the geomagnetic field," explains 'Phobos'.
Moreover, experts believe that there are currently two active groups of sunspots on the Sun that are beginning to be energized, and they have reached the level of M-class flare formation, which is close to the fourth level out of five. However, the probability that they will make contact with the Earth is low.
