Video: At the Same Time, Baku Wants to Keep Armenia in a Blockade, Says Pashinyan
Azerbaijan seeks to take advantage of transport routes through Armenia but does not intend to unblock its own channels. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a seminar at the Civil Contract party.
“This behavior indicates that Azerbaijan wants to use the communication routes through Armenia rather than open its own, keeping Armenia in a blockade,” he noted.
According to Pashinyan, Azerbaijan is unwilling to accept the Armenian government's proposed “Peace Corridor” project because it is concerned that Armenia would utilize such economic benefits to bolster its own defense capabilities.
“However, at the highest level, we have declared that we recognize the territorial integrity of our neighbors. We have no aggressive plans; moreover, we do not intend to liberate the occupied parts of Armenia’s sovereign territory through military means,” Pashinyan stated.
