A Clash Between Alen Simonian and Andranik Kocharyan: 'Zhoghovurd'

The position of Minister of Justice has become a real bone of contention within the ruling Civil Contract Party (CPP). Each member of parliament is advocating for their own candidate, but ultimately, they are unable to reach a consensus on any candidate. This is reported by the newspaper 'Zhoghovurd.'

According to the newspaper, a heated clash has erupted between the Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonian, and CPP faction member Andranik Kocharyan regarding the ministerial candidacy.

'Zhoghovurd' has learned that Alen Simonian assured Arpi Davoyan and Andranik Kocharyan that he would do everything in his power to ensure that Arpi Davoyan becomes the minister. However, at the last minute, Simonian unexpectedly backed the candidacy of Sisak Gabrielyan, a friend he had recently made, along with Hrachya Hakobyan, a move that was again not accepted. As a result, no one at the board meeting was willing to back and advance the candidacy of Arpi Davoyan. Moreover, there was a prevailing view among the majority that it would be embarrassing for Arpi Davoyan to become the minister. However, Alen Simonian was not present at the board meeting as he is currently out of the country.

Now, Andranik Kocharyan is complaining at every corner about Alen Simonian's behavior, stating that he has not been true to his word and has disappointed him at the last moment. Thus, there is a tense atmosphere within the CPP these days regarding the high-ranking position, with party members blaming each other for the failure to elect a Minister of Justice.
