Heavy Rains Partially Flood the Sahara Desert

For the first time in decades, heavy rains have partially flooded the Sahara Desert, reports the Independent. "The floods have left blue water marks on the palm trees and sand dunes of the Sahara Desert," the publication states.

The report notes that this has resulted in the death of 20 people in Morocco and Algeria, as well as causing damage to local farmers.
