Drivers Will Not Collect Cash from Passengers and Will Not Give Change: New Changes
In the context of reforms in the capital's transport system and the implementation of a unified ticketing system, starting from November 1, public transport users, specifically those using MAN, ZhongTong, and GazelCity vehicles, will be required to have a 100 dram coin or to make payments via the QR code of the payment system installed on buses.
This was announced by Haik Kostanyan, spokesperson for the mayor of Yerevan. "The main goal is to prevent possible shadow circulation, thus not distracting drivers from their main work and preparing for the transition to the unified ticketing system expected on January 1. Accordingly, drivers will not collect cash from passengers and will not give change. I would also like to inform that in the last 4 months, the revenue of 'Yerevan Bus' LLC amounted to 2 billion 817 million AMD, which is an increase of 3.9% compared to the previous 4 months. Only for the working days of September this year, the daily collected revenue amounted to 30-32 million AMD," he wrote.
